Welcome to The Wilderness

The Wilderness Subdivision is an intimate community of just over 200 homes, located in the heart of Mandarin, a community in Jacksonville, Florida. It is distinguished by spacious lots shaded with ancient, native live oak trees draped with Spanish moss, and other mature foliage. The quiet streets have a country feel despite the neighborhood's proximity to a host of modern conveniences. Meticulously maintained lawns, gardens and residences display a pride of ownership. It is home to a multitude of wildlife, from owls whose symphony of calls can be heard in the evening to deer which have been observed foraging in the early morning.

Over 100 homes in a subdivision with no home owners association came together and raised enough funds to rebuild our entrance sign. Volunteers donated their time and resources to pressure wash and clean up and trim the hedges at the existing brick monument. A landscape expert in the neighborhood is planning a "plant make over" and volunteers are on-line to implement it. Thanks to the generosity of these people, we have sufficient funds to buy new plants. The sign has been installed and looks great!
